Reliable review of hosted PBX provider VoicePlus, services tips

By

With the advent of the Internet and VoIP technology, many on-site or land-based industries are now able to provide services remotely using VoIP technology and the Internet as the medium. One such industry is PBX communication services. Needless to say, there is now a handful of available hosted PBX providers to choose from.

With so many hosted PBX providers in the market, choosing a reliable provider would be quite difficult. It is important to select a established and reputable CSP (communications service provider) that your organization can count on. If number of years in the business is a measure of reliability, then VoicePlus would be quite recommendable.

VoicePLUS...

... is a hosted PBX provider and has been apparently around since April 2003 and started with broadband phone service, Caller ID, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, and Call Return and after almost 7 years, has increased and broaden its features to cater with client specific needs and requests.

Some standard or common features offered by VoicePlus are: CallerID with Name, Call Waiting w/ CallerID, Call Transfer, Return Call *69,  and 3-Way Calling. As can be noticed, these features are common and are quite familiar in the communications industry.

For privacy and blocking features, VoicePlus offers a filter option which select calls that can and can’t go through. CallerID Block – used to disable CID (Caller ID) when making outgoing calls. When CallerID Block  is enabled, numbers you called will not see your CID. Do Not Disturb feature is similar to the filter option. It can block all designated calls except the important ones. For annoying telemarketing calls, the Telemarketer Block option can block telemarketers even before the phone rings. To block incoming calls that registers “unknown” or “private”, VoicePlus has the Anonymous Call Block option. Finally, International Call Block – option to prevent international phone calls.

For ringing and dialing features VoicePlus offers the following:

  • Speed Dial – with VoicePlus, speed dial is not limited to 9 but 99.
  • Contact Lists – this feature can be customized to say the name of the incoming caller
  • Distinctive Ring – just like the mobile phone feature, this option is used to assign ringing tones to specified callers.

Listed below are exclusive or extra features offered by the company:

  • Enhanced Voice Mail – with this feature, voicemail messages can be retrieved from email or even through a mobile phone.
  • Online Account Center – this feature is for account or record management. Through a web browser, it allows the subscriber to check bills, used and remaining minutes, payment history, etc…
Virtual Numbers – offers virtual presence. When calling the virtual number, the primary phone will ring and receive the call. Virtual numbers added to your account and can be called or dialed by anyone no matter where the caller is.
